Showing Off Chico to Visitors
Monday, July 28th, 2008
Some friends from our college days came from out of town to visit for an afternoon last week. Their boys are 6 and 8. We love to show off Chico. They arrived around lunchtime, so our first stop was Burger Hut. We stuffed ourselves while our friends, who live in Vacaville, marveled at the concept of a locally owned restaurant. Then we headed downtown, where we hit Bird In Hand, Powell’s Sweet Shoppe and the used Bookstore. We were going to get floats at the Old Town Root Beer Company, but we were still full from lunch. We were going to head to One-Mile, but one of the kids got an owie so we headed home for Popsicles, which we ate on the porch. Good times, Chico.
