U-Pick Peaches at University Farm

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

Yay! Millions of peaches; peaches for me. Millions of peaches; peaches for… 75 cents a pound. Last year Alec and his dad had a great time picking their own peaches at Chico State’s University Farm off Hegan lane. This year, the weather caused the peaches to ripen a little later than usual, but a call to the farm confirms that the public can start picking peaches this coming Monday, Aug. 11. So, get your containers ready (you need to bring your own) and show up between 7 a.m. and noon Monday through Friday while they last. Here’s a map to the University Farm.

More Fun on the Fourth

Chico Fourth of JulyAs expected, we had a great time at Chico’s 4th of July celebration at One-Mile. We saw dogs with bandanas, Alec met a girl named Liberty in the bounce house and we ate a hot dog and snow cone at the same picnic table as the mayor (not because we’re cool, but because Chico is that kind of town). We also made time for a dip in Sycamore Pool. Pictured speaking is Assemblyman Rick Keene.
