Patrick Ranch, run by the nonprofit Far Western Heritage Association, is 28 acres’ worth of cultural and agricultural history near Chico. The ranch hosts two annual events: the California Nut Festival in January and the Threshing Bee in June.
Chico Museum

The Chico Museum, located in the historic Carnegie Library building in downtown Chico near CSU, Chico, is open Wed-Sun from noon-4. Free, but consider donating. There are rotating and permanent exhibits, with the latter including a Chinese temple and historical artifacts.

 

Chico Air Museum

The nonprofit Chico Air Museum is located at the Chico Municipal Airport and celebrates local aviation history. There are planes for kids to climb into, and educational displays. Opens Saturdays from 10am-4pm. Hosts free celebration each May. Offers school tours.
